LISA BRAUN
DUBBELS.
Publicist, visibility strategist, and fractional communications director for authors, filmmakers, and mission-driven organizations. Nearly thirty years in the business of ideas—and still particular about which ones.
Clients don’t come to me for mechanics. They come because they’re trying to understand which outlets actually matter for this particular work, what framing will reach the right audience, and whether the book—and the author—are ready to meet the moment.

Raised in Minnesota, fifteen minutes from First Avenue. Midwestern directness—a preference for doing over talking about doing. No hype, no hustle porn, no smoke and mirrors. Just strategy that respects intelligence.

The Record
Late 1990s
Theological publishing for the Lutheran church. Then led an eight-person publicity team at the country’s largest new age publisher—eventually overseeing publicity, marketing, and two magazines. Personal publicist for Dr. Michael Newton and Ted Andrews, whose books Journey of Souls, Destiny of Souls, and Animal Speak each sold over a million copies.
2000s
Part of the team that brought The Secret to mainstream audiences. Multiple Oprah Winfrey Show appearances—including one of my own. Long-term contract with Beyond Words/Atria Books turning midlist titles into bestsellers.
2010s
Film: Jonas Elrod’s In Deep Shift (Oprah Winfrey Network), Kino Lorber-distributed titles. Agency of record for the Dalai Lama Foundation and Desmond Tutu Peace Foundation. Nobel Peace Prize Forum, Nobel Foundation, UN Women, individual members of The Elders.
2020s
More selective by design. Fewer clients, longer engagements, more direct involvement. Launched Stopgap for high-impact, short-term work in a fractured media landscape. The environment got weird; the response was to get more intentional.

Visibility without intention is just noise with better placement. The clients I work with don’t want noise. They want consequence.
If you want an agency running full campaign machinery, this isn’t that. If you want a senior communications mind brought in close—as a fractional CCO, a campaign lead, or a thought partner who can also execute—that is the work.
